Is the "cash cab" a threat to public safety?

In the show cash cab, a cab driver asks his passengers questions. It is a game show on wheels. The taxi driver is asking questions while driving. Isn%26#039;t his divided attention a threat to the public safety of the citizens of New York?

Yes, it is a threat to public safety, and I am sure that insurance for a cab on a show like this is tremendously high.

I have often wondered about this myself. I have a feeling he has a ear piece to help him but I%26#039;m not sure. Plus the traffic in New York goes pretty slow so I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s much of a danger.|||Cab drivers need to talk to passengers to find out where they are going and take directions as neccessary. This too can be considered as %26quot;divided attention,%26quot; however it is necessary for Cab drivers to get their customers to their locations.|||It%26#039;s more of an issue of people getting out of a cab waving all that money around. Hey buddy, stickem up!|||The drive does have an earpiece and is feed information from the producers. It is no more distracting than having a bluetooth earbud and talking on the phone.|||Yes, its just another driver that is not paying attention to rules of the road.
