Bouchville Manors%26#039; Planned Water Park Is More Than Fun and Games - Historic project designed to provide foster care, revenue and jobs

Plans for The Bouchville Project include an indoor/outdoor, state-of-the-art water park that ultimately will generate revenue for Bouchville Manors - and also employ youths phasing out of foster care Bouchville Manors is taking foster care to the next level - literally - with plans for a complex that includes a 45,000-square-foot water park.

Bouchville Manors is an innovative foster care program whose main objective is to provide permanency, life skills, and business skills to children and young adults in the foster care system. To announce its historic Bouchville Project, Our christmas drive starts on November 22nd and ends December 22nd. Gifts will be distributed to NYC Foster homes and area residents of the Bronx, Harlem , and the lower East Side. Monitary Donations will be distributed throughout the world. Applicants can apply through our web site: www.Bouchville.org (pay it forward link)* Plans for The Bouchville Project include an indoor/outdoor, state-of-the-art water park that ultimately will generate revenue for Bouchville Manors - and also employ youths phasing out of foster care. Three parcels of land totaling approximately 100 acres in the village of Harriman, Woodbury Township, make up the proposed site for the venture. The site is close to Woodbury common, is visible from I-87 and is located 1.5 miles from Metro North.

%26quot;We are extremely excited about this project,%26quot; said spokeswoman Liliana Trafficante. %26quot;It%26#039;s not only the first of its kind, but it promises to open up many opportunities for our youths.%26quot;

In addition to the water park, Bouchville Manors will incorporate a mini-village, emergency shelter and independent living program. The mini-village will feature a fire station, police station, mock court and stores where the youths can learn business skills. Other plans include a 300-suite hotel, 2,500-square-foot gift shop, a 6,000-square-foot arcade, meeting space, ballroom, fitness room and more. Bouchville Manors%26#039; feasibility study projects a positive outcome based on the projected hotel and water park demand, with projected net operating income at $10.1 million by 2010.

Our Christmas Party on Dec 22nd will include a light dinner and a special viewing of the film %26quot;Pay It Forward.%26quot; The movie, based on the book by Catherine Ryan Hyde, revolves around a young boy troubled by his mother%26#039;s alcoholism and fears of his abusive but absent father. He is intrigued by an assignment from his social studies teacher: think of something to change the world and put it into action. He comes up with the idea of not paying a favor back, but forward - repaying good deeds with new ones benefiting three other people.
