Look at your bad habits.

Are you cynical?

Are you sarcastic?

Do you gossip?

Find the one bad habit that hurts your relationship with God the most.

Work on that bad habit during Lent and then when Lent is over keep working on it.

With love in Christ.

If you call yourself Christian, why is it that you are not aware that Lent is pagan? “To conciliate the Pagans to nominal Christianity, Rome, pursuing its usual policy, took measures to get the Christian and Pagan festivals amalgamated, and, by a complicated but skillful adjustment of the calendar, it was found no difficult matter, in general, to get Paganism and Christianity—now far sunk in idolatry—in this as in so many other things, to shake hands” (The Two Babylons).

The Roman church replaced Passover with Easter, moving the pagan Feast of Tammuz to early spring, “Christianizing” it. Lent moved with it.

True Christians have no dealings in paganism, of which Lent is a part.|||I%26#039;m going to give up Yahoo Answers for lent because it might kill me so it%26#039;s going to be a true test for me.|||I gave up God. Best thing ever.|||dont give up anything.

More a positive goal than focusing on what you have to %26quot;give up%26quot;... instead focus on what you do positively. I find that when I%26#039;m more mindful of my speech, using it for benefit only, I tend to talk less by default... so the %26quot;giving up%26quot; comes by default.

Just a thought from a Buddhist perspective.
